7 Months...

Little Maggie Moo Moo, hopping through the forest, scooping up the field mice, and bopping them on the head...  Maggie loves when I sing this little ditty to her...original words were changed, of course.

Our girl has cut her bottom two teeth!  She's scooting around on her belly...she will be crawling soon...sooner than the boys, I think!  This girl does not want to miss out on anything.  She still won't take a good nap for us...but she will take a 2-hour nap every day after lunch at Daycare.  I'm open to explanations as to why, but my suspicion is that she's so totally exhausted from playing all morning that she just passes out at the first opportunity.  She usually takes a little catnap on the way home in the afternoons too.  Still Queen of the Catnap, that one...

• 16 pounds

Summer 2017...

It wouldn't be the summer without a trip to the beach...whether it's a quick trip or a longer one, beach time is the best time!  This  year was no exception.  It was Maggie's first trip to the beach and our first time being outnumbered at the beach as we usually have a much higher adult-to-kids ratio with MiMi, Mamaw, and usually Uncle Lee there too.  But this summer, it was just our Party of Five.  And we had so much fun!  Several trips to the arcade, numerous rounds of putt-putt golf, walks on the beach, playing in the sand, building sandcastles, and going out to eat at 5:00 most evenings!  The boys have always loved the beach, and luckily for her, their little sister did too!

6 Months...

Maggie is just growing so much!  Little by little in height and weight, but she's getting way more interactive with all of us, making baby sounds, she's sitting up great all by herself, will be cutting teeth soon...I just know those bottom teeth are going to break the surface any day now!  We've also transitioned to formula, just like the boys did at 6 months old also.  I'm proud of sticking with it for that amount of time with each baby; it is not easy and there were lots of blood, sweat, and tears shed by both baby and mama...but we all survived it!

That hair...the flip...the volume...LOVE IT!

This baby girl is so fun to watch.  Her expressions are awesome -- she smiles with her whole face and I just love that!  She loves her brothers and her face just lights up when she sees them.  They love her too.  The love this little trio has for one another makes my heart explode when I see them playing.  And the boys are such big helpers with her too -- getting diapers, holding her, searching for a paci.  I'm not sure what I did to deserve all that He has given me...but I'm certainly treasuring this stage of life...or at least trying to in between folding mountains of clothes.  :)

This month, Maggie is:

• 13.5 pounds
• 26" long
• wearing size 3 month clothing...still
• wearing size 2 diapers
• wearing newborn-sized shoes...but she'll be out of these soon...I think...

Our little Maggie Moo has improved so much with her acid reflux that we will be getting off her meds very soon!  Looking forward to visits with friends and a beach trip coming up!

5 Months...

At 5 months old, Maggie has now lived in two houses because...we bought a new house!  We loved the old house but needed a little more space.  And while the new one is a little big for us now, we'll have plenty of time to grow (up) in it!  So that was fun and has pretty much encompassed most of our last month or so...

But not to be overshadowed by a little change of scenery, Miss Maggie Moo has started solids.  She has loved it all!  Hopefully she continues to be a good eater like her brothers were at that age and still are.

At 5 months, Baby Love, you are:

• 14 pounds

• still in newborn-sized shoes (you have small feet)

4 Months...

Little girl!  You are 4 months old!  You've just finished your first month in daycare and we are falling into somewhat of a routine, thanks to Ms. Trina and Ms. Nora. They both took care of David Scott and Drew so I've loved having them take care of you too since they were there with us from the beginning and have gotten to be a part of the milestones of the first year for all of my little babies.

Maggie Moo!  You are officially rolling over from your belly to your back...or at least you've done this a few times, so it counts!  You've also sat up in the Bumbo seat a couple of times; you like it for a hot minute, but the lounger pillow is your preference. You're hair is thinning out and has lightened up a good bit. You're still going to be a brunette, though, as your hair is still a good bit darker than the boys' was at this stage. You're eyes really haven't changed much either; they're pretty dark and I don't anticipate them changing much from...beautiful brown.

We are starting to see a little more of your personality. You are pretty opinionated and know what you want when you want it. This is your world and the rest of us are just in it is what I think is your personal mantra. A girl that knows what she wants out of life is a girl after my own heart...no matter how big or small those dreams are. We will start giving you rice cereal now so that you are accustomed to eating from a spoon by the time we start baby food in another month or two.

3 Months...

This last month has been great!  I actually ended up staying home with Maggie all month!  Well, we didn't actually stay home much, but due to The Great Chicken Pox Outbreak of 2017 at Daycare, and a boss who was kind enough to let me stay home and not endanger my child, I was able to stay home an extra month.

We did a lot of stuff during that month, too.  We trained with Mrs. Sarah Vincent at the karate studio. We flew to Philadelphia to go see a dinosaur exhibit.  That was an exhausting trip which was compounded by the cold front that came through the Northeast, and the fact that DS threw up on me the last night we were there (too much junk was consumed that day).  The evening in which total crap was consumed, we'd gone to our first Major League Baseball game (it was a first for everyone but Scotty).  Maggie slept through the action and really didn't even see the first play as she remained covered up in her car seat the whole 5 innings we were there.  It was COLD.  We had a great time, though, visiting Philadelphia.

Maggie Lee has rolled over a couple more times and has even said a word, "Wow!"  I wouldn't necessarily categorize it as her first word since I think it was just a sound that kind of sounded like a word, but DS was right there when she said it too and he is pretty adamant that it was.  From a height and weight perspective, my little sweet pea is:

I am going back to the real world of being a mama who works outside the home, and I know I'll jump right back in there where I left things back at the office.  I will say, though, that I have enjoyed my time at home with my girl, more than I did with either of the boys.  I guess I have a better grasp on motherhood now than I did with them.  But also, knowing she is the caboose, I think, makes it a little more special too.  I've always said I could never be a full-time stay-at home mom, and I still maintain that since I know frequent personal training sessions, and lunch dates and middle-of-the-day visits with friends wouldn't necessarily be a regular part of our day.  But I do look forward to the routine that we'll get into since I've not done the greatest job of getting into a routine during my time at home. So I guess I should say that I've embraced it more this last go-round. So I look forward to going back to work.  And I look forward to the milestones that are coming our way with Maggie too!

2 Months...

You've grown just a little bit in the last month!  Your little personality is starting to shine through and I think you might be a little bit stubborn.  I can't imagine where you get that trait from...  A few things you like are nursing, being held by me, and NOT taking naps.  You are the Queen of the Catnaps!  You've slept through the night a few times and I thought for a hot minute you would be my earliest and best sleeper, but that has turned out to not be the case as you still wake up once or twice a night.  I can't really complain about that though as you are really good at going right back to sleep after you get full.  A girl needs her beauty rest...only at night, though, apparently!

A very exciting thing happened between month one and this month:  There's been an outbreak of Chicken Pox at daycare, so my return to work has been delayed so I can stay home with you a little longer to keep you away from infected kids!  I'm looking forward to spending this unexpected time off with you since I went back to work after 8 weeks at home with David Scott and Drew.  You're pretty good about going places as we are frequently out running errands, dropping off or picking up your brothers from school/daycare.  You especially love going with me to the karate studio for my personal training sessions as you usually either take a much needed nap or just sit there, quietly looking around.  We did have one sad, notable event -- Big Scott passed away.  Although you kids weren't close to Big Scott, the boys knew who he was and the boys had even met him a few times.  After years of fighting liver failure, his body could no longer take the abuse and he passed away a few days before you turned 2 months old.  You and your brothers were so sweet and well-behaved during the funeral and time surrounding that.  It really helped Daddy knowing he had his little tribe loving on him during this time.

From a milestone standpoint, you have rolled over from your belly to your back one time which I thought was rather impressive for such a young age.  However, I guess you are a really strong baby as people frequently comment on how strong you are and how great your head control is.  And they're right -- you are strong.  You're also kind, beautiful, smart, considerate, and respectful.  Well, maybe you're not all of these things today; but you will be!  Right now, you're still just a little baby who makes little baby sounds.  When we went for your two-month well baby check-up, here's how you measured up:

• Weight:  10 lbs, 8 oz
• Height:  22 inches

You are a petite little doll and are now in Size 1 diapers...but you're still wearing size Newborn clothes. You are still taking your Zantac for the acid reflux, and it seems to have made a huge difference in your life as well as ours since you aren't crying all the time anymore -- yay!  I love the sweet, gummy smiles you give me, and the way you look into my eyes.  I feel like you just know me and I just know you without either one of us even doing or saying anything.  But I guess that's how we were made with that parent/child bond.  I hope it always feels that way.  I'll try to remember this during your teenage years.
